Not sure if there is already a thread on this.. Has anyone has noticed but the 75th anniversary 2016 GC's have an updated front fascia. If I had to guess I would think all 2017's will look like this. No more smiley face grille. Headlights no longer have the strange looking black piece on the lower sides. The bumper fits into the headlights. The 7 grill rings look to be wider. Actual grill seems to follow more of the traditional jeep lines. Thoughts ?
I definitely don't like the new look. I think '14-'15 was the better looking years and some '13 summit or srt8 looks good as well. Just looks like they wanted to go back to the '13 year but round it off a little lol
I'm very disappointed if this is in fact the new look. It looks outdated and very yesterday. This look will not create new sales. The 14-16 looks best.
I am just guessing this is what the next edition of GC's will look like based on the 2016 75th anniversary currently looks like. I could be completely wrong.
This looks way better than the 14-16 in person. Fell in love with a recon green 75th anniversary edition shopping around recently anyone who thinks otherwise must be on crack... It just flows so much better
When the 2014's came out I thought the same thing. Then they grew on me. Now when I look at pics of my 2011 it looks dated to me. I'm sure once we see the SRT's / Summit / HA's we might like the front better.
I think the new front end looks pretty good as well. Not a huge difference, but looks good. If there is anyone out there that absolutely loves it, I bet it would be pretty simple to swap from a 2014-2016 front end to 2017 for those that absolutely love it. Just buy whatever parts you need, have them painted and install.
I had a rough morning in a rainstorm last week and hit a down tree on the highway. Enough damage to my 14 Summit to require a new front end. Has anyone swapped a 2014+ JGC for a SRT front end? Would the swap require new fenders or just front bumper? Hoods fit the same? Have to get mine to the body shop next week so I'm hoping you guys could share any experiences.
My car is. 2014 Summit in Auburn Brown. I have deleted all the chrome for matte Rose Gold and not sure I want to paint the chrome on the summit front again. Was tossing around the idea of upgrading to a 17 summit front end or high altitude to get the darker factory accents or to a 14 SRT front end. What do you think would be most desirable if I was to sell in the next 12-24 months.
