I really like what they did around the headlights on the '17. That's one thing I didn't like on my '14, the black honeycomb plastic below my headlights.

Love the 17 refresh IMO it looks great

The front looks a bit weaker, but I do like that the headlights now look finished and not an afterthought like on the 14-16 models. To be honest, the 17 front looks better in the SRT form than the other models.

I do like the refresh to me it looks good since they got rid of the smiley 14-16. Has more of a true jeep look now. Definitely more of a finished looked without the plastic tabs on the headlights. The fully chrome grille (mesh) was standard only on the previous summits models I believe. Seems as though it's standard on all overlands now. Color match the grille leave the rings black or color matched and make the mesh black. That's what I would do to the non SRT's.

This thread sent me out to the parking lot to double check my grill surround...
2017 Overland, delivered first of February, build sheet (thanks Milous!) says:

MFES Body Color Grille w/Bright Inserts

but as in the above pics, it is clearly black (fortunately not so noticeable with the Luxury Brown Pearl Coat paint which is very dark). Cost savings to not paint it I guess.

Don't really care for the bright inserts... 2017 brochure clearly shows an Overland with black centers on the seven slots, so I was pretty surprised to see the "Summit" grill at delivery. Also, in the catalog, all the grill surrounds appear to be black, so unclear what "Body Color Grille" [sic] means.

Somewhere at FCA a product manager is looking incredulous, thinking "There are people out there who notice these things? Unbelievable!"

Strange. I just got a 2017 Overland in Granite Crystal last week and the grille rings are chrome and so are the honeycomb inserts. Too much chrome for my taste, so I may be switching out the inserts to the black honeycomb. Time will tell.
