3 prong 110v outlet in rear

My 2011 overland came with a 2-prong 110v outlet in the rear console area. I have noticed that later models have a 3-prong outlet. While I know this outlet isn't designed for large appliances, even my laptop charging cord has the 3rd grounding prong. Is there any simple way to replace my 2-prong outlet with a 3-prong variety from a later model Grand Cherokee?

I wonder if that 3 prong is even grounded or if they just changed it so more stuff fits in the plug

Doesn't seem to be grounded guess you could go with the adapter and have the same chance of burning her up. Maybe the 3 prong from the newer models will just pop right in there

Re: 3 prong 110v outlet in rear

I keep a 'three to two' adapter with the car just in case I need to do an emergency charge on my laptop, but would never use it unless I'm in the car. Works great for low current requirements.
