"It's because you think you are cooler for driving a HEMI."

We ARE cooler than you, but it has nothing to do with the hemi and everything to do with the fact that you are a petty, jealous sounding hater. Get a life pal.

"To be clear, I could have easily bought a 5.7L for $1500 more but I choose the more practical route."

Sure you could've, that was they all say....

" I dont envy or look down on HEMI drivers one little bit."

I know, you look up....

"My point is simply that this thread reminds me that there are a lot of petty, insecure people in this world"

You're clearly one of them kid.....I mean, all that hate and anger sure doesn't sound like security to me. Maybe that's the reason the wife left huh? Ever thought about that? Or did you and your boyfriend adopt? It doesn't matter....

Have a good night and enjoy your 2 extra miles per gallon!!

Re: 5.7 L HEMI badge?

Uh, not to stir things up even further but you guys do realize that Chrysler did not invent the hemispherical engine. it was first used by European car manufacturers just after the turn of the century (namely by Alfa Romeo).

Chrysler merely employed a marketing team that coined the term to try to buy brand loyalty and to try to make people believe that they developed the Hemi engine which they did not.

To make matters worse Jeep wasn't bought out by Chrysler until relatively recently so putting a Hemi badge on the back of your jeep is seriously taking the piss and probably causing the Willys-Overland dudes to turn over in their graves.

Don't buy into the marketing hype and put a false badge on the back of your Jeep. That doesn't actually make you look very good.

Actually it is. Do you know the lineage of what you are driving and the bumpersticker you want to plaster on the back of your Jeep?

Really euro hemi? Talk about not having a life....you join this forum to make that post? (member since 5/16/11 hahahaha) I feel sorry for you pal.....it's bad enough that you concern yourself with what a group of total strangers are doing, but add that to the above mentioned pathetic hater move and you take being a douche to a whole new level.

Go out and get a life kid. You won't be so miserable...,

Educate us euro hemi with your vast knowledge of google and Wikipedia.

You talk like you were there when Chrysler bought jeep, like you were there when the hemi was invented. I doubt you were though, I do however believe you were there when the dildo was invented, based on your posts it was clearly created in your likeness.

Congrats on that.

Anyway, please, enlighten us with some more copy and paste from your new favorite research website that someone else actually researched on your behalf. We await your next post full of plagerism and stolen ideas.

Dickhead. The name HEMI refers to the hemispherical combustion chamber. They did not coin the phrase purely by marketing, but via a mix of FACT and marketing. Hemi sounds cool, no doubt. The early Hemi engines also has hemispherical chambers.... hence the term HEMI.

Most people who enjoy the modern day "Hemi" are aware that NO, the sombustion chamber doesn't
completely fit the description, but it sounds cool, looks cool, IS cool.

Now, piss off.

Rhaines, you do have a right to express your opinion...but show some tact. For some people, like myself, owning a jeep is a big deal. I grew up poor -- but next to a family that owned a jeep dealership. So all i ever wanted, when i could afford it, was a jeep. 15 - 20 years later I did it. I even make enough where I was able to buy my father a brand new 2011 car - his first in 20 years. So when I put my touches/mods on my new Jeep (mopar slush mats, shark fin, chrome bezels, chrome side rails, cross rails, etc) I did so after careful thought and deliberation. Thinking about what mods you want on there, doing the research, talking to others, saving up the money, pricing it on-line, waiting for it in the mail, and actually installing it is all part of the fun and pleasure of being able to own your own jeep. And yes, just like you have a right to express yourself, we all have a right to express how we want our Jeep to look like -- which is really an expression of our individual selves. Ironic that you said it yourself. Just saying. I think I've seen your name on here before, and you've offered some really constructive comments, and also received some help from others on here. You just have to know that your comments on this thread, were pretty insulting...especially to everyone who spent painstaking time adding hemi/5.7l badges on their jeep. I just don't see any reason for the insults...do you? Not looking for an answer, but hope you stick around and help out newbies like me with some good answers to my questions I know I'll always have for other jeep owners! Even your opinion counts (you just don't need to be demeaning). As for everyone else, there are a lot of kids and teenagers into jeeps that read this forum. Don't let others bring you guys down.

For the record, I went with the good 'ole Stars and Stripes in place of the hemi badge. It's something that means a fricken lot to me and my fellow devildogs! I've had one since 9-11 and will never be without it.

Re: 5.7 L HEMI badge?

Chrysler's marketing team coined the term Hemi
Hemispherical combustion chambers have been in use for far longer than Chrysler has been around.
Chrysler purchased Jeep in the late eighties.

Putting a Hemi badge on the back of your Jeep. Same as putting a Ferrari badge on the front. Doesn't make much sense. It's akin to jumping on a bandwagon that was designed by a marketing team to be a bandwagon.

You can cry about cutting and pasting, googling and all that other stuff all you want but it doesn't detract from the truth. I have owned and driven Alfas for many decades all of which had engines with Hemispherical combustion chambers that were designed well before Chrysler trademarked the term.

I love Jeeps. Always have. Sticking such a badge on the back of it makes me sick to my stomach.

Re: 5.7 L HEMI badge?

Seriously, I put the 5.7L HEMI badges on because it looks more balanced and better in my opinion. To me, it just seemed like Jeep omitted something....they put the FlexFuel badge on the V6's (apparently so the small dick people can brag about being "green"....j/k).

All of my other GC's had an engine badge...and it just looked like Jeep took it off so I put one back on. I like it a lot...I think it looks much better. Why some troll wants to post comments really just shows how little respect he has for others and of course that he has no life really. Every single WK2 5.7L HEMI person that has seen the added badges has said they were ordering a set too....they look great. For me it has nothing to do about bragging....it was just missing.
