well, my comment was meant to be humorous, but you missed that. with the recent news, its not a far stretch. You surely must see that. hope i didnt offend you, and i hope you keep your job at whatever law enforcement agency you work at.....
Yeah, I missed that it was supposed to be humerus, though I didn't miss the obvious exaggeration.
No I wasn't offended, and certainly didn't take the response personal, though you assume I work for a law enforcement agency.
...... no i dont believe you would be shot for dark window tint (provided you are the rich white middle aged male most of us are on this forum), at least i hope not but with recent events in the news, you would be foolish to think it couldnt happen. the cops have made some pretty horrible decisions lately, caught on film - just watch for yourself, draw your own conclusions....
I hope that is more humor. I truly hope you don't honestly believe you are only safe from being shot for having dark tint provided you're a rich white middle aged male.
On that note, I again see you assume that most here are. And FWIW, I'm not.
Also, you make, my point. I HAVE done my own research, and drawn my own conclusions, which does not coincide with the media spin which you seem to believe. A lot of these alleged "pretty horrible decisions lately" are extremely skewed by the media reports. To use the most recent event I can think of, I'll reference the case in S.C. The media reports the racist police shot an unarmed black man, with his wife recording it. Here's the surprise that the media didn't mention.... The officer was black and a gun was found at the scene. Though, I'm sure the media would just say the gun, and ankle holster were planted.
Anyway, that's just one case of many that the media has left out pertinent details to sell their story in the light they want, to make the most money (air time, adds, etc).
.....and yes, i have been thoroughly hassled and ticketed (but not shot) for darker than legal window tint. the ticket is excessive, and I get exactly why that is. If i was a cop, the last type of vehicle I'd want to approach would be 1 with dark tint so I couldnt see what the occupants were up to. It makes a tough job infinitely more dangerous.
By your previous post then, I assume that means you're a rich middle aged white male, since you didn't get shot. Lucky for you to have been so fortunate.
(humor, don't get mad, must trying to be funny)
Regarding safety. Yes tint is often talked about as it relates to traffic stops, but IMHO, it's more about driving. If you can't see what's around you, coming toward you, etc that's a much bigger safety risk than a traffic stop where you could just roll down your dark windows if you get pulled over. You can't preemptively roll down your windows knowing there's a kid on a bicycle about to enter the intersection from the side of the road you can't see. Sure it's technically their fault but do you really want to kill a kid if you can avoid it, regardless of who's fault it is.
