70th edition wood trim?

Is the 70th edition wood trim basically the same as the base laredo or is it different? It appears to be a different color and grain pattern...is it real wood? I know it would be tough to find, but I'd really like to swap out my overland trim with the 70th color trim. I think it would look sweet with the black leather dash and saddle seats...at least nicer then the orange wood combo. Not ready to start the project, but once I know I'm keeping it for many years, this is a mod Id like to do.

I know about the CF DIY and SRT trim, but I think the blk wood would create a nice luxury but sporty look.

Re: 70th edition wood trim?

What would you do with your wheel? I think the 70th only come with the leather wrapped wheels.

Re: 70th edition wood trim?

It's aluminum and it's over $2000+. Yes the pattern is different. It doesn't mimic wood grain, it's just a symmetrical repeating pattern. Your best bet is to find a totaled 70th Anniversary edition or better yet someone or a dealer with one that would swap the trim with you. You should look at it first to make sure you like it though of course too.

I have pics I saved on my computer from some others 70th interiors, but I can't find the way to post pics anymore on here.

Oh yea, and there are two different colors. One is mostly black and the other is mostly olive colored.

Re: 70th edition wood trim?

Thanks. I know it will be next to impossible to find a wrecked 70th and I'm not planning to spend retail from a dealer.

I already have a black limited heated wheel that I plan to swap out regardless whether or not I do the wood trim mod.

Re: 70th edition wood trim?

Maybe if you could find someone who knows what they're doing, they could sand the brown wood down and paint and apply the black laquer color.

Also, someone on here applied vinyl. Their's was a carbon fiber look but you could get it in black or other colors or patterns and apply that pretty cheap.

Re: 70th edition wood trim?

^^Yeah, I may do something like that but will wait for now...just throwing the question out there as a possible future mod.

Re: 70th edition wood trim?

I know what you mean though, I wanted the black interior but because of the orange look of the wood I got the frost beige interior instead and the wood doesn't seem so orange with the brown and beige in the vehicle which I'm happy with. At least you have the option to change the look to black trim at some point.

I was in the same boat originally wanting the black leather but disliked the orange'ish wood color contrast with black. I never really cared for the saddle/black interior until I saw it in person.

Re: 70th edition wood trim?

If your looking to sell or trade your wood trim from your Overland, I might be interested to swap with the trim from a Laredo
