AC sound in cab

Check out this video and tell me if other jeep guys get this sound. I can only describe it as a repeating wave type sound from the vent (in dash)

Re: AC sound in cab

Sounds like the blower motor is going out. I had mine replaced in my 2012 JGC twice.

Re: AC sound in cab

It's the refrigerant going thru the expansion valve and or evaporator coil. My 14 has done this off and on since I got it. A/C always blows cold. I think it has to due with lack of insulation the the refrigerant lines but that's just my opinion. I work on building A/C units and during start up it make the same noise.

Is it there all the time? I have noticed on a few occasions especially after a longer than typical drive a noise similar. I was having a hard time determining where it was coming from but thought it was coming through the AC vents. The second time I noticed it I turned off the AC and it was still there. I turned off the motor and it was still there... I opened the drivers door and it went away. Whatever is causing my mystery sound is being distributed through the audio system. I suspect it is the noise canceling circuitry that is mentioned as a feature of the Summit, but other than mentioning it, there is no on/off switch or any indication it is actually working. In any case, turn off the AC and see if it goes away. If not shut down the motor and see if it goes away. If it doesn't, open the door and if it goes away, it is probably associated with your audio system.

Do you have a Summit with noise cancellation?

Paul

Re: AC sound in cab

The expansion valve was replaced and all is good again. There is a service bulletin for this issue which the tech showed me. This was for a limited.
