Adding 12V outlet in backseat area

I want to add a 12V accessory outlet in the back of the console underneath the vents. Does anyone know if any models came with this? I'd like to use OEM parts to make it look factory installed. I have a base model 2012 Laredo.

Has anyone ever done this? Any chance there's a harness ready to plug into, or do I need to splice into an existing wire? I was thinking of just adding it to the existing 12V circuit feeding the outlet inside the console.

We're taking a long road trip to Gulf Shores this summer and the kids will need to charge their iPods, phones, and other gadgets. Seems like a natural place to put a power source to me, don't know why it didn't come with one.

I thought all models had the 12v outlet...I know for a fact the Overlands have them.

EDIT: Whoops, I was thinking of the 115v outlet.

You know there is a jack inside the console, right? And there is a little notch on the side of the console to feed out a wire from in there.

Yes, I know there is an outlet & notch in the console. I don't think the car charger cords are long enough to reach the back seat. Guess I could just get an extension cord, but I really want to cut a hole in something!

If you really want to cut a hole in something, just buy a 12V accessory adapter from Rat Shack. They look OEM.
