Re: After market power mirrors?

Last summer there was lots of discussion about folding mirrors on another thread. For those who want to see a demo, here's a link (believed to be an Abu Dabi export model):

I have a maple bush trail with large trees tight together a two locations. Folding mirrors would be nice to get extra clearance there.

I can see how the power folding mirror would be nice if you have to park in a very tight garage - fortunately my home garage is large enough.
Try having a regular assigned parking space right next to a concrete column and having to remember every time you back out not to rip your mirror off the side of your car. This happended to me many years ago when I had a Ford truck.

Re: After market power mirrors?

Great feature. Mine has them. Very handy for tight spots or even when parking against a wall and your trying to get as much space as possible between you and the next car....... I can get riiiiiiiiight up on the wall

Re: After market power mirrors?

Im glad im not the only one that wants this! Is it even possible? Would it require new wires or just new mirrors and a new button console?

Re: After market power mirrors?

I know on the WG WJ LHD version just plugged straight in on a RHD and worked even with memory, "BUT" I could not see anything.
LHD and RHD the mirrors are angled differently, cant adjust them enough to work.
Tried this Australian RHD left mirror with memory $1200.00, US LHD left mirror with memory $160.00us

Re: After market power mirrors?

Once the misses and me acquire our Summit (hopefully in September) we were planning on asking the dealership in Nürnberg about how much it would cost to make the change over to folding mirrors. In Germany, it's almost a must considering most parking spaces wouldn't accommodate two fat chicks on a pair of motor scooters. My big complaint is still over the freaking Navigation... which we will have to fork out around 500 euro's to get the European maps... oh well... that's the price to pay for living in schnitzel land.

Re: After market power mirrors?

Correct... however, we are the unfortunate few having to order it from the states. Just don't have enough bank to afford the Jeep at euro prices. If the euro goes one to one with the dollar... we'll be in business!!!

I'm currently in Frankfurt, Germany for work and with the higher value of the euro can't believe how expensive EVERYTHING is here.

Absolutely agree about the mirrors over here, damn rental car place keeps putting me in minivan things that are almost impossible to park anywhere on the weekends.
