I should have the new head lamp assemblies by early next week and will evaluate the situation then. I seriously doubt I'll be able to bake them and soften the epoxy based on what others have stated. I took a quick look at the ones on my Jeep and the epoxy doesn't seem like it's going to soften with heat very easily. Reminds me a lot of a JB Weld one-shot type epoxy. My bet is I'll have to cut like everyone else.

Well don't rule out the baking

Valeo makes headlights for other cars too.

Nissan Sentra headlights use the same glue and the ricers bake them open granted they are not that easy

The Charger and 300 use the same sealant and Oracle sells the halos to put inside those headlights. They bake and pry these open do a google search for these and you may gain some hope.

Everyone agrees learning how to do the first one takes some time and the second takes about 30 to 40 minutes after you get the hang of it.

Re: Aftermarket HID's for Altitude Pkg - ordered

Received the factory replacement Altitude light assemblies and after an hour of trying to bake and pry them apart, I'm going to cut them. They used the epoxy liberally and I'm just tearing up the outer lip trying to pry them anyway, so cutting is the next step.
I'm off to buy another dremel since my buddy has had mine for months

Re: Aftermarket HID's for Altitude Pkg - ordered

The issue with a lot of these kits is you're not getting a true D1S or D2S bulb when going the Plug-N-Play route. Regardless of the company, they are junk based bulbs that work, but are not on par with the real bulbs. It's quite obvious when you can purchase a set of HID rebased bulbs for $30 while a real D1sor D2s bulb go for $75/each.

If doing this conversion, I would wire in an oem setup or at least pourchase an oem like ballast as well as projectors that are designed for a D1S bulb setup.

There is a difference in output when comparing a D1s bulb to a H1, H2, H7, H9, H11 etc. rebased HID bulb.
