You would literally have to press the heat gun nozzle into the material to even get it up to ~150 C. But of course there is no need for that. So no damage will result with this mod.
I didn't really care to know, but thanks anyway for the time you spent looking it up.

Really, being that you were not there at the time of use,and not data logging the temperature on the heat gun he was using at the time of use,nor do you no how far away he was holding the heat gun and the model or brand heat gun he was using.Different manufactures have different low temperature ratings. I would have to disagree with your theory. And would like you to fully document/testing this in order to reconsider my decision.

I also have swiped/bushed my visors every way possible and cannot find the discoloration like shown in the pictures above. They seem to be directly under and surrounding where the label was removed.

Re: Airbag Warning Sticker Removal

I must admit, the forum's response to this was not what I expected. I posted this gallery because it is what I was looking for when I was considering whether or not to perform this mod.

Honestly, people, I really don't care whether you leave your stickers on, take them off, deliberately douse your vehicle in gasoline and light it on fire, or whatever. Do whatever you want with your property and I will do what I like with mine.

I will let the pictures speak for themselves... I did post those additional post-mod photos after there was initial concern that the fake suede was burned by the heat gun.

You seem to be a rather disagreeable person. I could rebut your claims, but for some strange reason I believe you will just move the goalposts. Regardless:

Ah, you could be useful and post some images of your virgin, unblemished fake suede then! It might be a useful comparison for others who are evaluating their own course of action.

Re: Airbag Warning Sticker Removal

Remember you posted on a public forum.Where people post their opinions on information a member post, you did not post this in the DIY section(clearly stated under the sections DISCUSS OPINIONS).No one is telling you what you can and cannot do to your vehicle and you shouldn't take my criticism or anyone elses to heart,in the end you are happy and that's all that matters.

carry on.

What's worse, it would not surprise me if there were some obscure law regarding removal.

I'm still on probation for a mattress sticker...

That info is for anyone that is interested in the mod as it won't damage anything if done properly. I think those labels are a sorry icon of our litigation society.

No one cares about your decision reconsidered or otherwise.

The point is quite clear... the yellow sticker is fugly and not required for people with brains. As one of such people, the OP has removed it and detailed his methods for the benefit of others... who may wish to follow or perhaps improve on it.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: Airbag Warning Sticker Removal

Thanks for the post. My 2014 Cherokee Limited has the stickers and it drives me crazy - they are obnoxious. Unfortunately it looks like the GC Summit has a very different headliner and visor material than my Cherokee, so I'm still not confident about attempting to take off the labels. Hopefully another user has tried this with the Cherokee.

Re: Airbag Warning Sticker Removal

It has been a long (*LONG*) time since I have been over here on the board, but I have to give props to the OP for this mod.

I have the stickers on my 11MY O'land. I am going to use a hairdryer first and give it a shot, those stickers are reallllllllllllllllllllly obnoxious.
