Hard to say to be honest, I never measured any of the cuts. I bought a twelve metre roll as a job lot. From memory I think the roll was 1.30m wide, I'll have to check in the morning.

If I recall correctly I cut a piece 3m in length to do the headliner. The pillars, I just cut what I needed, by laying the pillar on the material, dry wrapping it and marking where I needed to cut. The d pillars use the most material, as far as the pillars go.

I would suggest buying a couple of metres and seeing how you get on. It's not as easy as vinyl to work with. If you need to stretch it, you'll have to apply
steam to the fabric, heat doesn't work.

And be very careful with the glue, you don't want it to seep through.

If you do a quick search on here for Alcantara, you'll see a lot of threads of mine and while not 'how to's you should be able to see what I mean from them.

Not true. Alcantara is different then microfiber suede. Alcantara cost 3X as much or more. If it doesn't have Alcantara stamped on the back it's not authentic. There's a distributor in Florida called Gulf Fabrics that sells it. http://www.gulffabrics.com/

Re: alcantara headliner

I noticed you guys who did the suede liner do not have the pano sunroof. I was wondering about doing this on mine with the pano roof. The fabric for the sunroof visor is real thin and appears to be a different weight. Feels like it has no backing. I'm curious if the Alcantara suede can be used for the sunroof visor with pano roof as the fabric has to roll or fold up and then retract and not be all wrinkled when opening the pano visor.

Anyone relate to what I'm talking about?

Yeah you're right, whilst I used Alcantara ( I got it dirt cheap) faux suede or microfibre suede will do the same job for a fraction of the price.

x2

Also, I believe Gulf Fabrics is the only US distributor of Alcantara.

Re: alcantara headliner

Hi...new member here, great info folks. I'm also curious if anyone has attempted to do the alcantara on the panoramic sunroof? It definitely seems it could be hard to do with the material rolling up. Anyone do it?
