Got the fronts matched to the back glass and tinted the windshield 50% with a darker sun strip. I was iffy about the windshield but I'm glad I did it. You can see out great at night and it keeps the car so much cooler especially as temperatures go up here in FL.
Still got to hardware the radar, and install a few interior LEDs and reverse lights. Then I'm thinking of powder coating the wheels black and ditching some chrome.
Looks great! I'm getting my front sides tinted soon.
Are you hardwiring into your rear view mirror? I just purchased an Invisicord wire but I'm not sure how to remove the cover to access the mirror harness.
Pretty much you just need to pull down on the black part like in the picture, and the whole assembly will come down. I messed with it just to try before my invisicord comes and once you get it off it is pretty straight forward after that. Kind of sketchy though as it seems like it might break, but it shouldn't. The connectors look a little different on the 14' but the colors you want to tap are the same.
That looks amazing! Now I gotta get the front tinted 50%. I got the sides matched to the rear, but never thought of doing the front, but after seeing your pictures I'm sold!
I love the look but I don't think I could do my windshield. I would be affraid of vision problems at night. But it would be nice to have the heat rejection properties
Wow, i really like the look of the tint on the windshield! It's illegal to tint the windshield in MA but so is any tint under 35% and i've always had lower...
Yeah I've read that he police do not like to walk up on a vehicle not being able to tell if a gun is pointed at them due to a darken tint!
I think there is some kind of percent allowable in my state but have noticed some new vehicles with some real dark tints I can't see through , maybe law has changed for me
Anyway very nice looking vehicle!
Can you take a picture from the interior looking out during the day? I just want to get an idea of how it would look from the interior before I call the tint shop and setup an appointment.
Sure, I'll try to get one for you tomorrow. I took 2 new pics today when I was out. The windshield looks less dark in sunlight, and brilliant black looks awesome when clean.
I was going to do my windshield as well. I've matched the fronts to the factory back and was thinking of doing a 50% or 75% on the windshield. I wear polarized sunglasses, though, so apparently I would be able to see lines on the windshield and they would be distracting. I guess the easy fix would be to buy new sunglasses. Yours looks great though.
I'll be tinting my front windows this Friday as well to the max allowed in Mass (35%), but I wouldn't even dream about tinting the front windshield (don't need to up here).

Looks great!! I''ll be doing the same after adding the illuminated sill guards and pedal kit. But I have to look at the NJ tinting rules again but I don't think they'll give me that much of a hard time since it's a jeep.
how dark is too dark for the front side windows? no matter what i do to mine it's going to be too dark legally, but... the rears are 20%, and i was thinking of doing 35% on the fronts. will i still be able to see at night? that's my main concern
I can see at night no problem, and I matched mine to the rears. 35% is actually legal on the fronts in Florida so if you go with that I'm sure you will be fine visually.
Front windshield/front windows and sunroof with 3M Crystalline 70. Back windows are factory (18% tinted glass). As you can see, Crystalline is pretty "clear" but blocks out UV/IR light (car is a lot cooler!). I decided to keep front windows lighter even though AZ allows 30% just in case I move to a state that doesn't allow front window tinting..........that and to keep focus AWAY from the fact that I have my front windshield tinted also
With Crystalline, it looks like I have original factory tinted windows in the back and nothing up front.
