Altitude Window Trim

Have been having some problems looking for someone who can change my window trim to black since it came with the chrome. Can't seem to find anyone if somebody could recommend the type of place that would typically do something like this it would be great thanks. I'm also in Toronto Canada if that makes a difference.

Re: Altitude Window Trim

The place I went to specialized in industrial type vinyl wraps (i.e. food trucks, carts, businesses). Unfortunately, I'm in California.

Re: Altitude Window Trim

Did they remove the trim and wrap it or leave it on and have it wrapped ?

Re: Altitude Window Trim

First, I have not done this to mine but want to. Just so you know, actually replacing is like $1k+ because the cargo side window trim is attached to the window and you must replace the window unit if you are buying the Night or SRT black trim. I am not real jazzed on wrap due to the amount of winter weather i have and all that window scraping...I'm too anal to be happy with a wrap I think...paint? live with it? dunno....it's white so the chrome doesn't hit you in the face....

Re: Altitude Window Trim

had mine plasti-dipped, as have many others here. others have done vinyl wrap. i'm happy with the plasti-dip, looks great and will be durable. this is done with them on the car. lots of pics around here, have a search.

Do you have detailed photos of the plasti-dipped trim? I may switch over to that if it loos cleaner than the wrap.

My driver's/passenger's side is still slightly off (lighter). I went with 15% D/P and added the 30% to the existing rears.

i'm in STL area, IL side. unless you scrape the trim on purpose, shouldn't be an issue. i know two different people that have had it on the front grill of their trucks for 3+ years now. the only thing that will screw it up is if you put oil on it, like WD40, for some reason.

no, i went 20% all the way around so the back is darker due to factory tint. here, back can be as dark as you want but front is supposed to be 35%. i know a few cops that said they don't really mess with folks over it unless it's < 20% so i rolled the dice, figured as long as back & front are different it might keep me from getting pulled over.

Re: Altitude Window Trim

I plasti-dipped my window trim about 2 years ago, and am just having to redo it now. It's held up well and I only did an OK job on my first attempt. Been meaning to tackle it these last few weekends but weather's been bad and it's a takes a while. I'll get around to it soon but not rushing into it, it's just a little faded now so it's starting to bother me when I look at it.

Re: Altitude Window Trim

We had our window trim vinyl wrapped shortly before winter hit here in Nebraska. It's been absolutely fine and stable through the subzero temps and snows. Just stay away from it when using a scraper.
