Anyone add mirror courtesy lights?

New to the WK2 game...got a '14 Limited luxury II for the wife, while my DD is a FSJ. While washing it the other day, I noticed under the sideview mirrors there are small plastic panels where it appears some courtesy (coming home) lights belong (maybe on more upscale models?). Anyone look into adding these? We had them on a prior vehicle and it was a nice feature when approaching the vehicle at night.

I think they are std on the Overland and up models. Might check the MOPAR parts site.

Re: Anyone add mirror courtesy lights?

I have those lights in my 2014 Limited, they came with it, mine is an export version.
Its very nice to walk to the truck at night, unlock it and those lights under the mirrros light up and illuminate the area around the door.
Rgds.

Re: Anyone add mirror courtesy lights?

I called the local dealership parts counter today and after speaking with the employee I discovered that they are useless. He tried to tell me there is no part number for the lamp, bulb, or lenses, and that if a bulb goes out you need to order the entire mirror.

The cover pops off easily and it appears that my truck isn't pre-wired for them. Anyone with them on their truck care to pop off the lenses and housing to tell me what all is there (as far as wiring or any listed part numbers)? It should be a simple two wire install.

Going to try and research a bit more tomorrow.

It appears from the MOPAR parts site, all that can be replaced is the glass and/or the entire mirror assembly, and the price ranges from around $200 to close to $800 for the assembly. Not the best site I have seen, far from it.

They are standard on my SRT and are far from useless, they light up the ground really good, go to another dealer as that one is full of shit

Re: Anyone add mirror courtesy lights?

Are you talking about the directional blinker light on the mirror or something else?

They are also known as "puddle lights".

Aus spec SRT's get them standard. Don't know about other models sorry.

Re: Anyone add mirror courtesy lights?

I haven't been able to find out much more. Can anyone try to get a part number for me on the lenses or housing? There has to be a SAE number somewhere on it.
