Anyone else besides me getting stabbed by the seat belt buckle?

Occasionally when I get into my Jeep, the hanging buckle on the seat belt jabs me hard in my left kidney and it is driving me nuts. Anyone else have this prob? I'm slightly overweight. Maybe 15 lbs over. I am 6ft. 240 lbs. so I'm not a gargantua. Any ideas guys/gals?

EDIT: Anyone who says, "move the buckle before you get in" gets no cookie.

Re: Anyone else besides me getting stabbed by the seat belt buckle?

I'm 6'3 and 227, so not much smaller. Can't say I've ever had this problem with the hanging buckle. Mine dangles in the upper half of the seat, height wise. I have the shoulder harness adjustment on the pillar at its highest position... don't know how you have yours set, or if that would make a difference.

You know I didn't think of that. Where is my brain sometimes. I'll mess with that for sure tomorrow. Thanks!

6' 240 is like 50lbs over weight.

I've never had this happen.

For me, 15lbs is overweight. My perfect weight is about 225 for my frame and musculature. But thanks for the insight.

I have looked at those damn body height/weight charts and it says I'm overweight at 6ft and 175lbs lol

Never been stabbed by the seatbelt and I do not use easy exit feature and have the seat belt height selector at the highest point. I also have the car set to automatically lower when put in park. Just trying to think of all things that may effect the way I get in and out of the car.

at 6 feet and 240 that is 32 on the bmi scale. optimum is anywhere from 19-24.

I didn't say I was a bean pole guys. I have some muscle on me.
Please get past it. Buckle. Concentrate on buckle. Shiny buckle, stabbing my kidney when I get in my Jeep. Ouch. Buckle.

What is wrong with you people.

According to that BMI scale, I am well beyond obese and I'd have to weigh 170 lbs to be normal. Are you effing kidding me? I'd be a bony scarecrow at 170. I haven't weighed 170 since 9th grade and I was in shape.

Anyway, you guys are a trip. Lots of mental here.

I think I know what you are talking about... My husband will slide into to driver's seat and the clip where it hangs normally scrapes against the plastic pillar and against his body so I can see where it might stab you...

My remedy was to use a product similar to this simply to keep the clip hanging close to the pillar height adjuster and up out of the way. No scraping against it anymore when exiting/entering.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008JY...4VCED3PWVGFSPQ

If you attach this under the clip and adjust it so when the belt is not in use the clip is suspended just under that height adjuster thingy it will work well. If that makes sense. : )

Good luck!

Same for me. No worries.
