Just two examples but there are more transverse/lower power applications out there using XF's tranny for a couple years.
That's fine, but it's an apples to oranges sort of comparison. The 4L60E was used for a very long time in a lot of GM vehicles without issue, but when used in the TBSS was a consistent point of failure.
Now I'm not saying that the XF transmission is going to be a terrible transmission, just that not getting to be the guinea pig for it doesn't make me lose sleep at night over my purchase decision.
And truth be told, unless Chrysler intends to adjust its transmission programming and torque management significantly to take advantage of the new transmissions, I'd rather have less gears.
