Re: Anyone have body colored painted lower trim?

Didn't the SEMA Jeep also have different/custom Rocker Panels? I might be mistaken but I recall thinking they have a bit more "flare" detail?

I'm thinking the lower front and rear panels were aftermarket, but the trim panels under the doors and wheelwells looked factory to me.

Re: Anyone have body colored painted lower trim?

all the lips on the SEMA Street Jeep were OEM parts painted from what i was told. Never really lopked too closely.

And you guys may like all that tectured plastic trim now...but just wait till it starts fading and gets ashy.....

Re: Anyone have body colored painted lower trim?

I agree. Once I take delivery, and get ahead, I'm planning on painting it all. I've got a body shop that's sanded and painted textured plastic interior and exterior trim on other vehicles, and have done a really great job.

I'm also probably gonna paint the mirrors and door handles, and am even toying with the idea of removing and filling the "chrome" Grand Cherokee pieces on the sides / doors as well.

All just plans at this point.

Re: Anyone have body colored painted lower trim?

I color matched my black Audi all road 2003 in 06, front and rear, and it has stood up beautifully, so I would do it to my jeep, however it is blackberry so it probably be not as noticeable.

Re: Anyone have body colored painted lower trim?

I hate that they left them unpainted. They will hold up completely fine being painted. If I end up buying an Overland as the next vehicle, I will be painting all of mine immediately. Anyone who gets this done, please post pictures.

Re: Anyone have body colored painted lower trim?

Now is the chrome strip on the side a "removable" piece? That wasn't there on the SEMA GC. Just curious?

Yes, it is just held on the same way the badges are held on and can be removed quite easily.

There is a memeber on here who has removed the chrome side trim on his Brilliant Black Wk2. I can't seem to find that thread though... I've tried searching Chrome removal, door molding, door molding removal, etc.

If anyone is subscribed to it or remembers it please pass it along, i'd like to revisit removing the chrome door trim. I am still hesitant though due to the overwhelming amount of chrome on my Limited.
