I recently purchased a leftover '14 Summit and think the illuminated sills on the '15 Summit look great! I would like to add them to my '14 but haven't seen any posts on that yet. Does anyone know the part numbers or anything like that yet or is it too soon?

I have not seen them in person no, but I saw a picture online and thought they looked pretty cool since they matched the bluish/purple interior dash lighting. Maybe I will have to check them out at a dealership in person before considering them. Either way I thought it would add a cool touch...or maybe not ;-)

Here you go JT part# 82212120 179.55 with free shipping From FallsMoparcity great place for OEM Jeep parts and accessories. Call Dave at 330-929-5700 Ext 274 he will take care of you. Tell him Dennis from NY sent you.
Awesome thanks very much for that info I appreciate it. I will keep that number in mind because there are other misc things I want to purchase as well.

Thanks

Today I was at the dealership and inquired about the '15 Summit sills and he did provide me with a couple part numbers, but we still werent 100% sure without giving him an actual '15 Summit VIN with the correct brown interior.
Here is what I have:
5SQ05LU5AC and 5SQ04LU5AC

At this point im not 100% sure these are the right things since the '15's are so new and there are no pictures or diagrams. So I would hate to order these to find out its not right. A google search brought up "scuff plate", but didnt give any other specificd such as color or being "illuminated". If anyone can take those parts numbers and dig deeper if you have access to chrysler parts that would be greatly appreciated.

Lastly, if anyone with a '15 Summit can post some pictures that would be helpful as well.

Thanks guys,
James

Wellp I ordered the "Summit" illuminated sills for my '14 Summit. I will update this thread when I receive and install them.
I'll have to do some research, but in th e"Jeep" illuminated sills where do the instructions tell you to tap into a source?

Can't imagine they do as the product is intended as a replacement for the exact same part. Probably just shows the connector (which you will have to make/modify). Not really one of those "mod" parts.

MY15 wiring diagrams aren't posted on wk2jeeps yet but here is the MY14 one for the interior lighting. Should be enough to decide where/how to tap.

Good luck.....

Received the sills the other day and installed them yesterday. I'm very happy with the purchase and LOVE the look. Installation was easy for me but I'm familiar with doing that kind of stuff. I simply tapped into the footwell lights that go on when the doors open as suggested by the Jeep accessory sills.
Color is hard to judge based off the pics but it is the exact same "purplish blue" of the dash lighting and they look awesome! I paid like $155 shipped from an online parts store.
Pictures arent anything great but here they are! Also, one person above said they thought they were cheap looking on his '15 Summit. Everyone has their own opinion, but I completely disagree. I think they look fantastic.

All in all for both sides I would give yourself an hour. The factory footwell lighting is pretty easily accessible as well so if you are able to tap into a couple wires and solder (if you prefer soldering), then this is an easy job. Wire taps are also an option and would make the job even quicker.

Can you confirm those numbers? I looked online and can't find anything regarding 'illuminated summit'. Also I spent half an hour with a parts guy and all he could find with those numbers was the 30.00 plastic protectors , again nothing with the summit on it. I can find the 'illuminated' jeep everywhere they are easy to find but nothing out there at all on these.

Yes I can 100% confirm part numbers: 5SQ05LU5AC and 5SQ04LU5AC are the correct numbers for the brown '15 Summit illuminated sills. Those were actually found from my local Jeep parts guy first, then I called him back later with a VIN from a brown interior '15 Summit and he verified it again they are correct. I then ordered from a random mopar online parts vendor that had the best price and exactly what I wanted showed up at my door.
I also found out that a search for those part numbers will never mention "illuminated". Also, if you search mopar online parts for a '15 Summit the illuminated sills never show up. All it shows is the standard ones.
If you need the black ones I don't have the numbers for that, just the brown ones. Either way the parts dude at my local Jeep dealership seemed to find them no problem at all, he even said his computer showed them as "illuminated".

Hope this helps.

Ok , I will try and see if the other dealer can find the part numbers as I do have black inside my white summit. Now do they have to be the color of the interior? I had the understanding that the new part just popped into where the color part popped out then you wire it in to the underseat lighting.

I was also thinking the door pin might work as that turns it on and off when the doors are opened.

Yes it has to be the correct interior color. Only the aftermarket Jeep accessory illuminated sills are the inserts only. These are the full piece.
You can tap into whatever source you want to power these, but I chose the footwell lights since those go on and off with the doors. That and the fact that it's easily accessible. I have no idea where the door pin wiring is and not only that but is it even a constant 12v source?

I just made a call to the other parts department and they found the part number very fast. Same part numbers but with black you replace the LU5 with DX9 and if you have the brown/black you replace the LU5 with another number that has DT9. Looks like cost in Canada is 162 per side , and the parts come from the US , special order.

I ordered them online this morning. I paid 150 US for both plus 26 US shipping , with the exchange it came to 226 , where the dealer wanted 170 each plus shipping , so I came out ahead even with the extra cost. I should have them hopefully by the time I get home next Thursday , and then can install those and the other scuff plates that cover the paint on the lower sill.

Also my weathertech package with front and rears and cargo will be delivered on the 9th.

Sweet you'll love them! Weathertechs are great too!
As for wiring the illuminated sills if you are good with wiring it will be easy. When you get the new sills you will see the small white connector. Just pull it out of its bracket and I snipped it off and just soldered longer wires on to run up into the footwell where I tapped into the footwell lights.

Finally got around to doing this mod and it was as easy as advertised...just extended wires and tapped into footwell lighting....Pics don't do them justice-they are much nicer in person for sure

Nothing else new for mods other than a new set of Pirelli Scorpion Verdes all the way around and a complete set of PowerStop slotted/drilled rotors w pads to boot...
