I would suggest just going with the AC panel with out the heated seat buttons.

The buttons don't do anything is half correct, They will throw fault codes of open circuits, and by swapping this in you are already taking a chance with your warranty for that part. So it would be best to use the correct one and slide under the radar so to speak when you take your car in for service.

Now the fault codes won't trigger a check engine light but every time they scan it for fault codes it will show up on the scanner as an HVAC fault.

Re: auto climate vs manual

I'd check out this thread before purchasing.

Auto Climate Control Display Problems

Never received replies to posts in two different threads asking if the new AQ units worked. Had my dealer order an AP unit for me vs going the discounted online route to ensure I got an AP. My AP non heated seats unit works great. Had the WK2 at the dealer for an oil change yesterday and no questions or concerns were raised about the auto a/c

Re: auto climate vs manual

What about part 68111109AQ or 68111110AQ would these work ? I dont mind having extra buttons for heated and ventilated seats... though I dont have them,.. but I dont want issues with display...
as AP parts are not available any more only 55111916AQ is.
which has issues with GC 2011 ..

I would appreciate any replies

I used 68111109AQ and it worked perfectly.. You can find it on eBay
I bought mine for 140$ used.

It has extra buttons for heated seats, I don't have them, so the buttons basically do nothing .. Other than that .. I love them ..
Good luck

Very easy .. No need for dealer to program anything .. Just trim the plug .. When you try to plug the auto you will notice it will not slide .. Just crack those extras and you're good ..
Good luck
