I've had no luck getting these parts from Dave's -- They refunded my order twice. I don't think they have them.

Talking Re: Automatic climate control CAN be ADDED to manual climate controlled vehicles

I ordered from Dave's like I said, received it and installed it with no issues (no heated stuff, part 55111916AP)

Installation was very easy once I figured out the tabs I had to cut. They are two tabs on the top corners of the harness that plugs in into your new new switch/controls. Everything else is plug and play. I have it on "auto" and it seems to work really well.

I always hated those three knobs and I'm really happy with this mod. I got it for $168 shipped (missed out on the 5% coupon) but I just noticed they raised the price to $212.53. You can use their 5% coupon code EOS5 and get it for $201.90 shipped. JustforJeeps.com is $207.86 after applying their 5% coupon (don't have it handy) and including UPS ground shipping charges. For only $6 bucks difference I would definitively order from Justforjeeps if I had to do it again. I have ordered many parts from them in the past and never had an issue. I didn't receive confirmation emails from Dave's but they were really fast to reply and everything went well as well if you want to save $6 bucks.

Re: Automatic climate control CAN be ADDED to manual climate controlled vehicles

Just ordered mine today from justforjeeps.com, part #55111916AP was $209.04 shipped with a $10 discount, the coupon code is save10. It's a great mod and it's probably the last one I plan on doing. Does anyone know if it is necessary to disconnect the negative battery cable before installing it? Also, where's the best place to start and how much force does it take to remove the center bezel?

The bezel comes out very easy. Open the compartment door at the bottom of the console (where the cigarate lighter switch is) with your fingers, pull the bezel straight out starting at the bottom and it will start to pop out. It's held in place by clips. When putting it back on, start inserting from the top and work your way down. I did not disconnect the battery. There are two harnesses that you need to disconnect, the AC and the emergency light and other buttons one. You will make the modification to the tabs on the harness that connect to the AC switch.

Re: Automatic climate control CAN be ADDED to manual climate controlled vehicles

Looks like I waited too long and price has jumped 25% to over $200. Are there any 916s for $160 left anywhere ?

Sweeeeet!!! I'm interesting in upgrading my manual climate control also.
where did you buy the automatic climate control? Do you have the part number?

Re: Automatic climate control CAN be ADDED to manual climate controlled vehicles

Just got it and installed it today. It looks great and appears to work fine too. Only took about an hour, mainly because of having to trim the tabs on the plug and the time spent looking for the bright orange "hold down" clip that was missing (one of about eight clips that hold the center bezel to the dashboard). I never did find it, does anyone know where I can get another one?
