Best Aftermarket HID Bulbs? Osram or Phillips?

i'm getting ready to have a set of custom SRT Style HID headlights made for my 2014 Limited and I'm thinking I'll change the Bulbs in the headlights as well.

Just wondering what the concensus is on the best aftermarket HID bulbs for a 2014?

I see that Black Ops Auto Sells the D3 Osrams and the D3 Phillips...both same price pretty much...what is the better of the 2? or is there even a better option?

here's the Osrams: BLACK OPS Auto Works

and the phillips: BLACK OPS Auto Works

I got the Phillips from xenon depot (5k) and was around $150 bucks. They put out a white light with zero loss of lumen like other bulbs

Did you notice them being any brighter or whiter than the stock bulbs?

They are white in color to the eye. After some research I found out about HID lights. The 4300k stock bulb actually puts out more lumens (brightness) the whiter, then blueish tint bulbs like 5,6k and up, you see look brighter (to the eye) but actually put out less lumens and not as much light. The Phillips is / or claims to be the only one that gives you the white light with no loss of lumen. So you keep the light plus get brighter whiter color to the eye(white light)
So yes it's a brighter whiter bulb

I did the same bulbs in mine. Definitely a little whiter and seemed to throw the light further.
Here is a pic with the passenger side done. You can tell its a little whiter

I like the retrofitsource.com

If I were to buy a pair of bulbs id probably go with the Osram CBI's.

I have done a number of retrofits and have spent a lot of time on headlight and retrofit forums. I was also previously on the Acura TL forums and there were a number of threads with actual high quality comparisons between the original bulb and the Osram CBI and SVS bulbs. Both were NOTICEABLY better in all categories such as brightness, width, and background lighting.
The Osram SVS bulbs are going to have a yellower look similar to stock or even more so, CBI bulbs will give more of a white look compared to stock, but not ridiculously so. Both are said to be some of the only bulbs that provide more lumens than an OEM bulb. It appears the CBI bulbs are readily available on most websites, not sure about the SVS ones. I'm sure there are other decent bulbs available, but from the time I spent on actual headlight forums, either one of those may be the way to go.

Here is a thread I found that compares the output of the SVS to the CBI bulbs.

http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/show...omparison-Pics

Here is a quote from the thread:
"Both the SVS and CBI are brighter than any other bulb, and they have better optics. It comes down to color preference which bulb to get. The SVS is a bit brighter, as any 4300k bulb is brighter than it's corresponding 5000k bulb"

Perfect!

I'll give those a try then...I ordered the LED 6K opti7? something like that LED's for the fogs so these should be a closer match to those than the stock Hid's

Thanks for the help
