I guess it depends on what you consider worn out. I think the Mopar mats are thicker than the Weathertech to start so basically you've worn this one area down the the thickness the other ones start at. Since they are 50% of the price of the weathertechs I'm not too concerned and still consider them to be the best slush mat value for the WK2.

You should show your dealer this, maybe Chrysler will replace it because it does seem like excessive wear but then you don't post how old, how many miles and how long the last set of Weathertechs lasted you.

I have the Mopar mats and mine are 3 months old with about 4000 miles and they look new.

Re: Best Floor /Cargo Mats

My last Weathertechs lasted 6 years, 70,000 miles. The rubber on the Weathertechs felt like it had a layer of plastic or something on top, definitely a harder rubber material and I never had an issue with them.

I've worn this down to the thickness of Weathertech mats in four months, but by next year I'll be hitting carpet. I'll show the dealer just to let them know that the rubber is too soft, if they end up replacing it, it'll be a bonus.

I thought the same as you and was also upset but then I realized they were designed this way. Look at a new set and you will notice the channels aren't as deep. You can even tell from pictures, take a look the thread from my install in January and you can see the shallow channels under right foot. Also, if you look at the underside of the mat you can see this as well.

I've had mine now for 5-months and 5,000-miles and they look the same; no complaints.

For the summer I went with a set of CoCo Mats. I chose the black with the grey dots and it looks really nice with the black Overland interior with the grey piping.

Re: Best Floor /Cargo Mats

Take a look at Husky Liners. They are the original liner manufacturer for cars, trucks, and SUVs. Very similar to WeatherTech at a more affordable price.

Re: Best Floor /Cargo Mats

I see where a lot of you pay for the MOPAR slushies, I have bought several Jeeps over the years and to close the deal after the money discussion, I always ask them to throw them in. No more funds tacked on. Paying that much for a Jeep, they usually will throw in the slushies, and in the case of the WK2 I had, they gave me the complete set, including the rear mat. Be brave. Believe me, most salesmen will throw them in if they know that will close the deal!!

+1 I've had Weathertechs before and have been disappointed in the holes allowing salty water to stain the carpet,

and how it doesn't cover the area where a dead pedal would be.

The Husky Liner Weatherbeaters don't have those problems and have held up well so far.

They do!
They are made by Rugged Ridge. I think for the WK2 they are on back order. They are so sweet!

Re: Best Floor /Cargo Mats

I put in a set of Husky liners last week and are fairly happy with them. Have had Huskys in other vehicles and they last forever. Only thing is I wish the Huskys for the GC would go a little furhter up the carpet on the right side near the gas pedal.

Re: Best Floor /Cargo Mats

I bought the Husky's a couple months ago. I chose them over the weathertechs because I liked the dead pedal coverage and the lack of "hole".

I've had problems with them allowing melted snow to overflow the edge closest to the seat and getting all over the carpet.

I've realized it's because their edges aren't tall enough to stop water from overflowing when going up a steep hill or sloshed during acceleration. This is less the fault of the Husky's themselves, and more just the fact that the floor well that the Husky's sit in is very shallow. Since the Huskys are designed to fit the floor well, they're as shallow as the well. Had Jeep designed the floor wells a bit deeper, the Husky's would be deeper, too.

I can see where the Mopar mats and the Rugged Ridge mats probably solve the issue via those "lugs" they have that would help hold the water in one place, whereas the Huskys' mostly flat area allows the water to slosh around. (But at least makes them very easy to clean.)
