Re: Best leather cleaner/protectant

Ultima Interior Guard Plus was recommended by several others on this forum. I was skeptical, having used 3M and Meguires leather cleaner and conditioner for years. This stuff is expensive, but worth every penny. It is specially formulated for coated leather like the GC. It is a nice matte finish, not greasy and a little goes a long way. It also works nice on interior vinyl surfaces.

Re: Best leather cleaner/protectant

I've been using Connolly's Hide Food (now called Hide Care and it might not be quite the same, I don't know) for 20 years. When I was a wholesale car dealer, I had brought seats back to life most people would have thrown in the trash. I'm talking convertibles that were kept outside without roofs for a Texas summer. Leather that had become hard and brittle brought back to soft and smooth feeling again. The stuff is amazing.

How is the Ultima Interior Guard Plus? Any problems yet? Or is it working out?

I really like the Blue Magic cleaner and conditioner. Smells great and can be purchased at auto parts stores

Lexol works great for me. FWIW, my Overland seats feel in no way dry, the leather looks and feels brand new, like it came out of a MUCH more expensive car.

Lexol has saved my old leather couch. Lexol saved the leather in my old car (despite me using Meguiar's leather care on it religiously). And it's not really that expensive, $25 on Amazon gets you big bottles of the cleaner and conditioner.

Re: Best leather cleaner/protectant

I've used pinnacle Leather conditioner all my life. Haven't tried some of the others that are mentioned. I simply give the leather a wipe down with a moistened microfiber and not even a drop of mild soap, just to remove any grime or dirt. Then just liberally apply the leather conditioner, which has I high concentrate of lanolin, until it is absorbed then reapply until the leather won't take anymore. Once it's in the hides just buff it with a clean lint free towel. Looks awesome and has a great leather smell as well.

Re: Best leather cleaner/protectant

I tend to stick with stuff I can buy in my local Advance Auto Parts store

**** for all the other interior plastic I use the Meguiar's natural shine and protectant********

Lexol cleaner and Protectant:
(Makes my jeep interior look show room fresh) My brother just started using it in his 14 year old 5 serious BMW And the mechanic asked us what we used because now he wants some.

Blue magic cleaner and protectact:
I like it because it leave that low gloss non-greasy finish and it actually works for the price.

Turtlewax Ice interior detailer:

This stuff make a great cleaner the does not cause colors to bleed. It is expensive and you can use the whole bottle doing like three cars but it lifts dirt really well and does not leave and greasy residue behind.

Lexol is my top pick because the glycerin based cleaner makes the leather look virgin and if you lather the protectant on with your hand instead of an applicator you get more product on the surface instead of the pad soaking it up.

I also use the lexol on my clarks too.
