Black 2012 Altitude Edition Red Tow Hooks + Red Painted Brake Calipers
Just got finished with some projects I've been working on with my Grand Cherokee. I really liked the red tow hook look of the Trailhawk Cherokees so I decided to plasti-dip my tow hooks red. I liked the look but thought they didn't really look like they belonged so I decided to paint my calipers red. I was considering the MGP Caliper Covers but couldn't get past the fake screws painted on them (but different strokes for different folks). Anyway, just thought I would share some pictures of my WK2. If people are interested in painting their calipers or tow hooks I can post some more pics of these projects. For the Calipers, I painted them on the rotors, used two coats of grey engine enamel primer, four coats of duplicolor red caliper paint, black Mopar decals I found on Ebay, and then three coats of duplicolor engine enamel clear. The hardest part was cleaning the calipers and masking everything off.
I also plasti-dipped my front lower valance black (was silver), plasti-dipped my front and rear emblems black, black lug nuts, front window tints + windshield banner tint. So far everything has held up pretty well. I live in Colorado and pasti-dipped my front/rear emblems in Feb and they still look good.
Eventually, I'd like to get some SRT-8 headlights and do an HID conversion or retro-fit but that will be a lot of work and money. Thanks guys!
