Black painted calipers

Since I bought this Jeep, the bluish calipers have bugged the shit outa me. Especially behind the Altitude black wheels. Finally had time to paint the fronts. Only took about two hours using the Duplicolor Caliper kit which was $20.00. I recommend getting a better paint brush since the one it comes with falls apart. No need to mask anything off if you are careful and I barely had to clean my calipers due to only having 800 miles racked up.

Unpainted hideous rears..

Painted fronts...

Re: Black painted calipers

Nice, but a contrasting color would have looked nice too...

Re: Black painted calipers

Thought of it but rarely does red look anything but cheesy. Yellow is the other choice and that should NEVER be painted on a caliper period.

Agreed!!!!!

Did they have a blacker black though? It still seems a little greyish or silver.

Re: Black painted calipers

It's definitely black. Probably the combo of iPhone camera and crappy lighting

Based on the paint package shown they were painted silver not black.

I saw that but just thought that was a stock photo of the paint. But, I bet you are right.

Re: Black painted calipers

i just bought 2 of these kits (blue and silver) at my local ollies for $2.99 each. i have had mine painted black for 2 years now but decided to change the color when i saw how dirt cheap the paint was now.

Thanks Fu, OT, but I can see you in the reflection of your rims and your grill is definitely not that of your avatar or did you get spacers for your front two teeth?

I am not a fan of red calipers if they are not brembos.

I am still warming up to Yellow calipers too.

The Color I had in mind would be an nice Ford Engine Blue on those calpipers.

Kinda like the Mopar '10 challenger black and blue theme.

Maybe a nice decal would add a litte pop to the black calipers.
