black rims and colored lug nuts

I've been tossing around the idea of powder coating the lugs a different color. I currently have a granite gray with black rims, I was thinking about going with a dark burnt orange color on the lugs. I borrowed another forum members pic and did a quick photochop of orange for the lugs and calipers.

What do you think, too much?

Re: black rims and colored lug nuts

Not a bad idea.
I'd be in for some blue ones if you know someone who can get them done.

Re: black rims and colored lug nuts

The orange looks fairly seasonal, as in harvest time, Halloween....
Not overly noticeable, does set them off a bit.
... Maybe a blue white for winter, green for springtime, gold for summer?

Festive lug nuts...hmmm.

That's a market just waiting to be exploited.

Blue nuts are never good.

A guy on the Corvette forum has his lugnuts the same color as his car with black wheels and it looks really sharp, I'm sure there's a few colors that don't work well but it's unique.

Yikes!
Not to my taste, but it's your vehicle and if you like it...
Go for it!

(Not that I don't like a nice bright orange, but the mostly black theme looks killer to me.)

Re: black rims and colored lug nuts

I don't think they would stay colored for long -- unless you never have to use them.

Re: black rims and colored lug nuts

I'm pretty sure you can purchase anodized lugs. I'm not sure if they are available in our size or not.

I have seen a few different colors in person on a VW and a couple Z's from back in the day.
