Re: Black wood steering wheel

If you find a good source please post it. I'm looking at getting a high altitude but will want to add the wood wheel.

Re: Black wood steering wheel

My build sheet says my steering wheel is wood....but it is so polished and smooth it feels like plastic.

Really frigg'n nice plastic...but still....doesnt "feel" like wood.

But I like it.

Anyhow...to the issue of replacing the wheel and then replacing the trim.

I think the gold/bronze/rose hue stuff is marketed as something like "Moroccan Sunset" or some such silliness.

It compliments the center console etc.

If I recall correctly from other posts I've read while researching my own JGC aquisition, the early 2014 Overland/Summits had silverish trim pieces.

Therefore...would it be possible to narrow the search and look for an early 2014 overland/summit wheel?

I would say that you could consider a High Altitude wheel, but I dont know if that would give you the wood that you want. (snicker)

Any idea what a NEW wheel meeting your needs would cost from MOPAR?

Happy Hunting...

V.

The earlier 2014 summits have silver trim. My MY2014 build date March 2013 has all silver trim inside. Summit MY2014 manufactured January 2013 until somewhere around September 2013 are silver trim on the black interiors, they changed to the gold color after that.

Re: Black wood steering wheel

I believe the trim color is dependent on the interior color you have. I have the Moroccan black interior in my Apr 13 built 14 Overland and all the trim is bronze.

This is true. I have this interior, but the steering wheel is dark blue, with white stitching.
