Question Blacking out the chrome Trim??

Just received my 2012 Grand Cherokee and was wondering on how easy it was to black out the trim on the vehicle ,is this something that can be painted or needs to be replaced ? Looking forward to doing many mods and customizing , Like Rock rails ,front winch and lift or leveling kit ?? still doing lots of research !! Thanks !!

Re: Blacking out the chrome Trim??

Buy a couple cans of plasti dip spray it's awesomely easy to apply especially for trim and badges... I have a white jeep grand Cherokee altitude and just did all of the badges and the chrome grille to black, looks great, and its only took one afternoon.

Re: Blacking out the chrome Trim??

would you mind posting some pics of the plasti dipped trim and grill. I am definitely getting rid of all the chrome on my GC but am still trying to decide which way to go. Thanks

Re: Blacking out the chrome Trim??

Here is mine that I had done using vinyl. Harder and more expensive than Plasti Dip but matches the B pillar which is obviously gloss black too.

Re: Blacking out the chrome Trim??

Did you guys take the grill and brow off the car to plastdip? Or did you just tape everything off?
Looks good.
