Re: Blind Spot Mirrors

Here is a photo of the OEM aspherical mirror that are standard on some of trim level of export models.

Take note of the dotted line that shows where the mirror curves to increase visibility in the blind spot.

Since I have added these mirrors I have no issues with making lane changes or merging into oncoming traffic.
The biggest pay off of adding these mirrors has been with parking and close quarter manuevering they open up your field of view let you know how close you are to another vehicle and generally make the vehicle feel smaller since you now have feedback as to where the rear of the vehicle is in relation to the other vehicle and obstacles.

There is one price to pay for the added visibility though. Object are a little less defined.

For example I used to be able to drive by someone and look at there face in great detail now the persons features are now washed out.

Re: Blind Spot Mirrors

I really like them and the OEM factor, not in love but they are nice......just not $200 nice to me, my mirrors are pretty good to begin with, this would've been a nicety. I'd rather think where $200 in gas gets me or $200 in cleaning products, a new Loomis fishing pole, some chrome truck nutz for my tow hitch, but I see the benefit and cool factor. I just see it more in a great meal, and then running over the valets foot in reverse cause I couldn't see him with my regular non wide angle mirrors. I'm just jealous, enjoy!

Re: Blind Spot Mirrors

I'm interested in a set of these but unsure if my GC can use the auto dimming mirrors. Does the 14 Limited come equipped or have the ability to use these?

if your limited does not have auto dimming, then these mirrors will work like regular mirrors, no worries.
