Ha ha. Yeah, gotta say that's the first I've heard of anyone doing that.
The only solution I can think of though, is to have some pool noodles (or anything similar) in the garage. Since this is only an issue when you're parked in the garage with the hatch up, you can put the noddle along the edge to protect your arm (and the lens). When you leave the house, leave the noodles in the garage.
The sheep generally do not like the sheepdog. He looks a lot like the wolf. They would prefer the sheepdog cash in his fangs, spray paint himself white, and go, “Baa.”
Until the wolf shows up. Then the entire flock tries desperately to hide behind one lonely sheepdog.
