I have manged to secure 4 handles at a reasonable price including postage, do you have any photos of the drivers and passengers front door handles, if you still have your chrome ones they will be fine.

As mine is a export model I need to know if the mounting of those handles is symetrical as I will have to flip them.

If you have any pictures that would be great.

Thanks

Marc

I have the pics one page one do you need others? When you go to take your chrome ones off you'll be able to see how they are positioned. I would imagine yours will install the same as an regular spec. Did you have to order specific to an export model? If so it should account for the drivers side swap. With the handle facing forward the metal bracket piece on the handle goes up.

Re: Brilliant Black Door Handles Are Here

The only difference I would see between the export and US handles is that if a car is right hand drive, the lock cylinder for the drivers door would need to be on the US-spec passenger handle. I don't think there would be any difference with the rear handles.

I actually need a picture of the inside of the drivers and passengers handles so I can see if I can flip them. Looking from the outside the US and export models are symetrical so should work, but I dont know how they connect to the door and how the latch connects without taking the door apart. If any of the mounting points are not dead centre, etc then I cannot flip them.

Am I making any sense.

Cheers

Marc

I see what you mean now with the drivers handle and the metal tab !!!

Is it possible do you think with the drivers handle to remove the guts and swap it with my export models drivers handle or take it apart and flip the insides around ????

I am trying to find pictures of the underside of the handle.

Not sure if the metal block itself can be removed, but you might be able to slip off just the cover that goes over the lock cylinder on each front handle and swap them. The metal part is connected to the part of the handle that you grab with your hand.

I have still have my chrome handles at home and I'll see if what I am trying to describe is possible when I get home from work today.

The RHD ( Right Hand Drive) / LHD (Left Hand Drive) front door handles are NOT interchangeable, What you need is RHD Export Left front door handle Part #1TB85AXRAD. - Right front door handle Part #1TB86AXRAD.

Give JustForJeeps a call they'll look after you.

How did you come across those Part Numbers ???

Just for Jeeps prices are okay, and there help is fantastic however there postage is just a tad expensive compared to others.

JustForjeeps are the ONLY ones that can obtain Export parts.

JustForjeeps have partnered with Bongo International shipping to service International customers. And yes, Bongo shipping is expensive, but, if you want Export parts then that's the go.
