Broken driver settings button... need help.
Hey everyone, so this issue really covers two problems but my main concern is the driver memory settings button. I have a 2012 GC Overland with the 5.7L and Quadralift.
Last night, I parked the Jeep in a steep driveway (front end facing up the hill) and as I opened the driver door to get out, it swung back and hit me right in the knee. While it didn't hurt at all, I heard a cracking sound in the door. Great. I was hoping it was a tab holding the door skin to the door but it looks like my knee hit directly on the driver settings button and is now wobbly. I tested the buttons and luckily they still work, they're just really loose within the housing.
I will try to get out and take a the door skin off this week but I work a lot and it's usually dark when I get home and I don't have a garage. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a simple bracket I can buy or do I need the entire driver setting button setup? I'm trying to find a part number but I'm not having any luck at the moment.
The other issue is these doors. I've never owned a vehicle where the doors don't "lock" in place as you open or close them. They're so damn heavy they just swing open and closed as they please. It's very annoying every time I get in or out. I'm not sure if there's a solution for that but my main concern right now is the driver setting button.
Thanks in advance.
