Burnt DRL Light - moving to LEDs

So I noticed the other day that my DRL light globe (photo below) is burnt and the reflector cloudy at the top!?

Has any one taken this to their dealer to confirm the issue? seems as though it maybe heat causing!

make me think moving to LEDs might be the best option!

Re: Burnt DRL Light - moving to LEDs

It's the heat from the bulb causing the the discoloration on the reflector it also happens to the outer taillights as well just over the bulb.

I am curious since you are in Australia if one of the front running lights go out does trigger the bulb out indicator.

On the Euro lights the 3157 has two working positions

DRL = 21 watt
running light = 7 watt (often looks yellowish when on) or what we call park lights

Re: Burnt DRL Light - moving to LEDs

Yer that's why i have got myself some Putco Novas LEDS to put in lieu of the normal bulb, should lower the heat a bit..

Don't know about the if the running light triggers the bulb out indicator, as I haven't had one go out yet.

I think the Nova LEDS are dimmable though?
