Have any of you guys seen or used this product?
They are caliper covers. I was thinking of painting mine red, but then came across this. They do seem pricey though.... $200.00 for a set of 4.
I'm think about doing the same to mine but painting them with G2 caliper paint. I used it in the past on my Vette and it came out awesome! and a can was only $50 bucks at tirerack.com compared TO $200
These look pretty good. I am new here and just picked up a 2012 Overland Summit in black and was thinking of doing this. It seems they are pretty easy to install and look good. Any issues so far with them? Did you order from MGP direct or get them somewhere else? How much by the way?
All the Brembo covers ive seen are plastic, and i couldnt find any that were specifically for the Jeep GC. i figured you would have posted a link scott?
Painting calipers to add some color is one thing, but these kind of brake covers are designed to fool people into thinking that you have a multi-piston BBK set-up.
To each their own, of course. My opinion is influenced by years in the import car tuning scene, where one of the worst crimes you could commit was putting fake parts on your car.
Last year Walmart was clearing out some blood red Dupont caliper paint, I think it was $15. I finally got around to do doing my calipers last weekend while changing to my summer tires/rims. It took a bit of time to prep the calipers but it gave me a chance to check over my brakes. They turned out fine but I will do a second coat in the fall.
$200 for these covers seems about $100 to high IMO.
Does anyone know if the brake calipers changed on the Overland V8 hemi between 2011 and 2012? I think the answer is no, but wanted to see if anyone knew for sure?
These covers say for 2011 and I haven't been able to confirm if these will fit the 2012 brakes.
You know, I think what's bothering about these is the Painted "faux" Bolts. They're just covers, and that's cool. I think it's these fake bolts that are making them "pretend" to be a big brake kit. Maybe just have the Logo without the painted bolts. Then they'd clean up the look, be attractive brake "covers", without trying to look like something they're not. Whatdoyathink??
