Just installed the same setup yesterday (except I went with the S16 through bars) on my Jeep. Easy install, just make sure you measure out the bars before installing them. The install itself is a piece of cake. Barely notice any wind noise with them on and certainly not anything that I can hear over the radio at my typical setting.

I have the Yakima flush whispbars and they look great and you don't hear them at all!

Re: Calling all roof rack experts

does anyone have the OEM Bright Lines roof rack on their 2014 or 2015 JGC? I'm thinking of getting these for the price (obviously it won't be as good as the whispbars or others), but if it's pretty minimal wind noise, I wouldn't mind that.

I'm also wanting to put the Curt roof rack with extensions to load some camping equipment or luggage when moving around. If anyone has pictures of that, I'd be very interested!

I do have a panaromic sun roof if that plays into consideration on anything.

Re: Calling all roof rack experts

I worked at a bike shop for years and we sold both Yakima and Thule products. I recently decided on on the Whispbar setup and couldn't be more happy. I have installed hundreds of racks on customer's vehicles and I've never had an easier install that the Whispbar on the GC. As another user mentioned they are silent. I have a ski/snowboard Carrie on at the moment and the whole setup is more quiet than just the base rack of the Thule square bar setup or standard Yakima round bar (both of which I've owned on previous vehicles).

Re: Calling all roof rack experts

I too have installed the whispbar recently. Very happy with the install except for the rubber gasket that meets the bright rails. Little bit of a gap/ non flush fit. Minimal problem for the big picture. Have just ordered my Inno low down cruiser cargo box in silver. Hope it's a close match to my billet Overland. If not I will have it painted to match.

Re: Calling all roof rack experts

I got the aerobars from just for jeeps. no noise at all. I am also running the Thule Ascent 1600 cargo box. clears the sharkfin, and tailgate. I use the same box on my WRX if im not taking the family. I can fit 4 complete sets of gear, snowboards, boots, helmets, gloves, jackets. Also use it for 6-7 duffel bags. I have even fit 2 of those square carry on luggages, between the clamps, and then more bags in front and behind. Even had thin stuff on top of all the bags. It locks and everything stays dry, and no need to be worried of wind either.

Buddy of mine was so proud of his cargo basket, then he had to get a thule cargo bag for anything that couldn't be tossed up there on its own, and then ratchet straps to keep things secure, and it carries less.

Re: Calling all roof rack experts

The factory cross bars seemed quiet until I got the Whispbar system. Major improvement (I have both). I drive 30k miles a year (mostly interstate) and the Whispbar system is by far the quietest I've owned. Just my opinion.
