Someone in this forum explained this could be done. I just ordered the Altitute grill and would like to try and see if I can remove and install without removing the bumper. Does anyone have the link by any chance?
I left my plastic rivets off - the bumper stays on just fine. Plus, it's likely that I'll take the bumper off again, and I'd rather not deal with the rivets. Without a doubt, removing those cost me the most time (in hindsight, I'd just clip them off with wire cutters).
Dabitz - if you even have an inkling of mechanical ability, you can do this yourself. Or, drive your WK2 to Northern VA and I'll do it for you.
The rivets are not so much used to hold the bumper on as they are to attach the wheel well lining and the black plastic trim. The bumper itself attaches with the hex head screw into the metal bracket
For $16.00 you get the riveter plus enough rivets to do the job three times.
