Re: Can you tint windows on a leased Jeep!

Agree. I never had to remove tint, clear protection. No need to. The car's, if not purchased by the dealer, go directly to auction. Just be mindful to keep up with schedule maintenance, wash/wax, repair any significant damage that exceeds lease guidelines. Enjoy...!!

DON't REMOVE TINT!!! first it may be more work than you're looking to take on. 2nd they won't even care/notice.

You are correct. The lease companies do not care, and do not notice.

Re: Can you tint windows on a leased Jeep!

I have never tinted the windows on any vehicle before. I really want to try it on my Brilliant Black Overland. How much can I expect to pay for a good tint? When calling or looking around for a shop, what questions should I ask or products should I ask about?

Prices may vary by market. Yesterday I paid $95 to have the two front Windows of the jeep tinted with standard quality 3M film. This was outside of Atlanta. The installer recommended I use 25% film to match the rear, which is of course illegal in Georgia. So far I think it matches perfectly, although others in the forum have reported the rears are 19%.

I've always tinted windows in my cars, having probably a dozen tint jobs done over the years. I've had both legal and illegal tint done, it just depends on how it looks on the car. Get your new jeep tinted at least legal, you will love it especially on a brilliant black.

Re: Can you tint windows on a leased Jeep!

I have to tint every car I own. I like the privacy and it keeps the cat cooler in the summer. I went 20% and I paid $95 for the front 3 also. You get what you pay for. Go with quality tint that won't fade or start looking purple'ish after a few years.

Re: Can you tint windows on a leased Jeep!

Does tinting the front window interfere with the auto high beam or rain sensing wiper features?

I have never tinted the windshield and would bet that is illegal in all of the US to do so. Others were discussing tinting the panoramic roof in another thread but I don't recall if anyone actually did it. I wouldn't want the roof any darker but that is a matter of personal preference and maybe climate.

Re: Can you tint windows on a leased Jeep!

I've also read quite a few forum members tinting the pano sunroof ... Don't really understand why ... It's already tinted ... Doing so would make it more difficult to see the sky at night and there is a retractable shade. I understand some people get the rear privacy glass tinted as well because they want it DARK ... But closing the shade eliminates the need to do it to the sunroof ... But hey ... It's your dollar.

Re: Can you tint windows on a leased Jeep!

hey, they could care less if you tint it. Half the time they just leave it on when they resell it All I can say is dont remove it unless its done professionally because itll leave the adhesive which is disgusting and collects dirt which they will end up bagging you for fees to get it taken care off. I personally cant stand an untinted car i think it looks so much better--- plus then nobody can see you picking your nose
