Carbon overlay interior trim kit -LOTS Of pics-

Well..I was looking for a little something to jazz up the interior of my 2014 grand Cherokee limited and ended up stumbling on this carbon fiber overlay kit made by remin

I ordered the fake cf kit they had and once I received it I realized there was no way I was putting it in my jeep

So I returned it and then bought the real carbon fiber version they had. I got the 46 piece interior kit in black carbon fiber and I got the 9 piece door and trim kit in blue carbon fiber

After a lot of waiting I finally got it and installed it today. Overall it looks pretty damn good ..you'll need a heat gun to really get the pieces to lay down right but overall it's a very good quality kit and the look is awesome !

Wish I had taken some before pics but I was too anxious to get them installed :)

I paid $275 for the 46pc kit and 90$ for the 9pc door kit

I'll take some better pics in the next couple days as its raining here in Boston today

Definitely want to see some pics. I want to replace some of the interior trim to look like the Overland (black zebrano I think). The Limited interior trim is a sad attempt to resemble wood. I am looking for a good trim kit or I may pull the parts and do a vinyl wrap.

What pieces are in the 9 piece door kit?

I only want to replace the long, skinny pieces that make a horizontal stripe around the interior of the vehicle. It goes across the dash just above the glove box, around the push start button, just above the dimmer knob and through all four doors. Unfortunately, those pieces are not in the kit from B&I and I don't see them in the Remin kit either.

there are 42 different styles to choose from with this Remin kit..I got mine at CarID

the 9 piece kit for 90$ is what you are looking for...it comes with the pieces you are looking for...all 4 door trims and the 3 big pieces on the front dash...the other 2 pieces are door edges ...

I was going to pull the pieces and have them carbon covered but then I found this kit...and it's pretty nice overall...but its definitely not the same as getting them done in real CF

I'm very anal about what I put into my jeep and I was just thinking I'd rip this off if I didn't like it

Overall the fit is really good

I did have to modify a few pieces but I'd recommend this kit if you want a nice look for short money

If your a perfectionist then this is not for you ..the kit overlays but doesn't cover everything so it does leave the edges exposed

I'll take more pics tomorrow

That's pretty cool - I really like the door trim. Def post some more pics when you can.

Remin® - Jeep Grand Cherokee 2015 Full Dash Kit

There is a link - I went looking :D Wish the site had some pics of what all the colors looked like installed.

I ordered the 9 piece door and trim kit in real carbon fiber. I'll start with that and see how I like it.

There are about 3 CarID coupon codes for 5% off Remin dash kits and free shipping out there

this one worked for me on the one I ordered:
DISC-REM-5

you can also try (didn't work for the 9 piece dash kit):
5OFF-REM
5REM-DSCNT

The fit is pretty good as you will see in the new pics posted above..the only bad thing is the edges and the sides are a little exposed so you either live with it or paint the sides black to conceal it...but overall its a good look...I don't know if there are any better kits but I wasn't able to find one better than this

Here's a couple more pics

Seeing these overlay kits reminds me of early 2000's when everyone with an import had one (including myself in my maxima).

Im really not feeling the look at all in the GC. Mainly because you can still see the rose gold trim on along the edges. Had the factory trim been all black then it might look ok.

Yeah....like I said it's ok...but not perfect...I guess you could paint the edges to give it a lot more "finished" look...but i really don't want to start boogering up the interior with paint on the panels...the good thing is that you can still remove this stuff if you get sick of the look...Overall though I think it's still better than the stock color...

I had the same kit in my 08, looks good and all but I wasn't 100% satisfied on fit. you nailed it with how it don't completely cover the part its supposed to cover. had my kit in over 3 years before I ripped it out. the finish started to deteriorate. the gel coat started getting some veiny looking blemishes in it

yeah...you really need to train yourself to look at the front only...lol

I'm guessing that in a week or 2 I'm going to be forced to paint the edges black.,..even though I don't want to...but I'm guessing that if I paint the edges up it will definitely have a much more finished look. and you won't notice that it's an overlay...at least as much

it looks better at night though

Yeah I can't do that when every time I go to mess with the radio I see gaps lol.

Tho I didn't have a heat gun I did hot box the truck in the summer I put em in to soften them up so they stick

its just the Gold underneath that drives me nuts..the upper screen area in the middle is already black so it's not bad...but the Vents and lower Center console and outer center console areas are gold...so they def need some black paint to really finish the look

well...now that you guys are giving me feedback it looks like I really need to try painting the edges black....I may do that this weekend ...I'll let you know how it works

I got some pics laying around on IG and Facebook. I'll post em when I can. I ended up wrapping mine with 3m 1080 series carbon vinyl....

I have some really nice carbon vinyl but I was too lazy and definitely not skilled enough to apply it properly

I looked into having everything carbon wrapped (real cf)and it cost a fortune and is a lot of work to tear apart
But I guess you get what you pay for
If I know someone that could tear everything apart and wrap it nicely I'd definitely go that route

This overlay is not oem quality for sure

That's why I bought just the door and dash trim 9 piece kit. I wish I could order it piece meal and do the ones that make sense. On altitudes our door trims are black so it should come out nice. I'll post pics up asap not sure how long they take to ship

The door trim and the dash on my limited Is black underneath also so the blue carbon 9 piece kit I got looks good ..would look better even if I had gotten the black cf

You'll like it Skunk'd

No need to worry about the edges that are slightly exposed

I had a friend of mine in my Jeep today and he's not a big car guy...and even he kind of picked me apart over the Overlay kit...he could see the exposed edges and he thought it wasn't a very "finished " look...

I told him I was going to paint the edges but even he thought it wouldn't ever look perfect ...he knows How picky I am ...so now I'm looking into getting the interior completely covered in real carbon.

My plan is to pick up all the parts new and then just send them out to be coated...looks like it will cost about 2K but it'll be a much better look

Re: Carbon overlay interior trim kit -LOTS Of pics-

It will definitely looks nice! Man I thought I was bad lol you must have some money to burning a hole in your pocket with all the mods you've done, undone, and redone again lol ?

Part of the game of getting things right though! I still think the door trim and dash portion look good can't wait to get mine on shipping seems to take about 2 weeks from when you order the kit

Thanks man!

yeah...lots of experimenting for sure...nothing is ever permanent...I think my setup looks pretty good in person but everyone has an opinion

The door kit you got coming looks pretty good..especially since the parts underneath are black..so it doesn't look odd if it doesn't cover every bit...it s just the gold underneath that looks weird...if I could do it over again I would disassemble this and paint it black before applying the overlay kit

would Look a million times better

I did order the Trufiber carbon mirror covers and the trufiber rear carbon step yesterday so that's my next immediate project ...then I'll be on to the SRT body package conversion
