Cargo Cover

I just purchased a used 2015 GC Overland and it didn't come with a cargo cover. Are these cargo covers standard or are they a Jeep accessory?

Re: Cargo Cover

People tend to take them out of the vehicle and forget to put them back in. I also did not get the cargo cover when I purchased my 14 summit , but I also still had the cover from my srt8.

Re: Cargo Cover

You don't need it. Windows are tinted enough to keep eyes out. When retracted it cuts into your cargo space. Mine is in a plastic bag in the garage.

Re: Cargo Cover

Mine came with my 2014 Summit but after the second week of owning the Jeep I relocated the cargo cover to corner in the garage where it hasn't moved for the past 3 years. That thing is nothing but a nuisance that is in the way every time I wanted to put something in the cargo area.

Re: Cargo Cover

All 3 of my WK2s have came with the cargo cover and I always end up taking them out because they rattle.

Re: Cargo Cover

The thing is pretty useless. Cheapskates at Jeep should have kept the flipper glass and decontent the vehicle by scrapping the cargo cover. Mine has been sitting collecting dust in the corner of the garage for almost 3 years now.

I had to buy mine separately, it didn't come with the Jeep. I use it all the time though. After my old Jeep was broken into, I had no reason to give anyone that opportunity again.

My thought process is opposite of yours. If I was looking to burglarize a vehicle, I would look for a cargo cover in the extended position assuming it is covering something of value.

That has been my thought also. My brother who lives in Philly always leaves his console and glove box siting wide open to show the car is empty of valuables including coins sitting in the cup holder as he has had windows smashed for something as small as that. I guess if there truely is something valuable you are screwed either way.

Re: Cargo Cover

If you bought the Jeep new then it should have absolutely come with it...just like the floor mats, they should be there. Like others have said though most people take it out of the Jeep, put it in the garage or the basement and forget about it. They are pretty useless and I don't really see the point of it. So if you bought it used then the original owner probably took it out and forgot about it. if it was new and wasn't there then you should be able to get it if you contact the dealer, why it wasn't in the car new at the dealer is beyond me.

Re: Cargo Cover

Mine is also taking up space in my garage. It took me a whole 2 weeks before I took it out and have never been happier since. It just got in the way and didn't fully cover the cargo area anyway.
