Change LED's on Side Mirrors

I have a 2014 Limited with the Lux Pkg. My side mirrors has yellow LEDs in them right now (factory default), I was thinking about chaning them to white LEDs. Anybody done this yet? How is it done? and Where can I get the parts? lol

Re: Change LED's on Side Mirrors

I haven't taken the mirror assembly apart yet, but I have a feeling that it is a hard mount circuit board with surface mount LED's. This would mean having to de-solder the current LED's, sourcing new white LED"S with the same voltage /amperage requirements and re-soldering them to the board. I will warn you though if you change a turn signal to anything but yellow on forward facing lights the POPO will be on your butt in a big way. Just a heads up!

Re: Change LED's on Side Mirrors

The pods that hold the turnsignals are welded together with a small vent built in.

You would have to cut the back off the lenses and then seal them back with some sort of expoxy.

I would cut the lenses off and probably just epoxy a flexible strip LED to the back of the lense in the color of my preference and tap the wires.
