charring around DRL socket

Hey everyone, first question on the board, didnt see anything like this in the threads, besides some burnt out bulbs. My vehicle has 3400 miles on it, I drove it from WA up to my home in AK, so the lights were obviously on for long periods of driving. However IMHO, a DRL should be able to be on for an entire day of driving, hence the 'daytime' part of it. Gonna see what the dealer says this week, just though I would check on here if anyone has noticed the same. The black discoloration has started on the top side of the socket on each light, you wouldnt see it without looking right at it, but its obvious it started overheating.

Re: charring around DRL socket

Mine has it too. I think the plastic they used just discolors in that level of heat.

Mine also has some white powdery coating on the reflector inside it at the top as well. Dunno what it's from.

I don't think it's from the bulb, I think it's from the heat in the engine bay.
