Chief WK2 Lower Front Guard

Anyone running the WK2 LOWER FRONT GUARD from Chief? Would be interested to see some real life pics.

From the pics on Chief's site it looks awesome and I would consider running it full time without the lower fascia.

That looks great! Your Trailhawk is awesome - nice job. Do you leave the lower front guard on all the time or just when you take it wheeling?

Re: Chief WK2 Lower Front Guard

Thanks. I leave the lower front fascia on for daily driving but leave it at home when going wheeling. Before installing the lower front guard I hated needing to leave the lower facia on for the drive to the trailhead (sometimes several hours away) then after taking it off having it take up space in the cargo area while on the trail.

On my 2013 there were additional "air dams" connected to the lower facia directly in front of each tire - I have permanently removed those to improve appearance and clearance.

Any reason in particular you only put it on for wheeling? Is it a structural issue where you wouldn't want to leave it on full time?

I'm pretty sure you don't remove it. The bumper cover goes over it.

Re: Chief WK2 Lower Front Guard

I see some confusion here.
He leaves the Chief guard on all the time. He puts the factory lower plastic fascia on only when not wheeling, and takes it off and leaves it at the house when he knows he's going off-road. I can't imagine going to the trouble to unbolt the entire Chief set up just for daily driving. An I correct in that interpretation?

By the way, BigCat was a big help to me as a newbie who needed some info, and I'd like to take the opportunity to publicly say thanks.

Sorry I've been on a road trip for the last couple days -

You are correct macgyver35 the lower front guard is definitely a permanent installation and this forum is all about sharing information and we all benefit from each others posts and experience.

Just to clarify:
Lower front guard installed but lower front facia removed

Lower front guard still installed but covered up by lower front facia
