dont be a chrom-ist... lol I like it blacked out, but i love chrome on these as well.... Lucky you didnt buy an overland... chrome galore and realy great looking!
lol stiNkin' Chrome. I did the easier stuff first. I really want to do the Chrome grill inserts, just have to figure out how to get them out. Window trim is on the list too.
I had a friend Photoshop all of the chrome to black. I think this is what I'm going to do when I order mine minus the handles. I think I will paint them body color. I might debadge it as well.
I'm in the process of doing this to my '14 Limited. Plasti-dip worked for everything so far.... except the front lower huge chrome piece. Took a long time to dip bc of the taping off and on-the-ground weird angles.... annnnd then the next day, it peeled. Must have been water in a crack. Ugh! Anyways, anyone know where to find that lower piece to buy it? Maybe off of a Laredo?
I have always used spray on rims, but they DO make Plastidip in jars/cans that I use for dipping tools. (socket wrench handle, sockets, pliers handles etc)
Sold at home depot or menards.
anyone ever try just using a paint brush and the jar version to do the lettering. ("jeep" or "grand cherokee" lettering on the vehicle... ???
