I don't use any aluminum or plastic beverage cups. 99% of the time it is take out coffee in a cardboard cup. In my case it doesn't seem to be related to metal or moisture. Got it replaced under warranty as well.

Re: Chrome peeling?

I'm having the same problem with my 2011, this is such a stupid feature too i didn't need it covered in chrome , if they can't do it right why bother. Wish they would do a recall on this but you know they never will...

Re: Chrome peeling?

Also getting the peeling. out of warranty.
I'm likely going to remove it, peel off all the chrome and paint it or wrap it with vinyl.

Re: Chrome peeling?

I have a 2014 that had this problem with the cup holders. Fortunately warranty covered it, would have hated to cut my hand or a passengers hand open on something like that.
