It's definitely not 61 degrees in the Midwest so maybe I should wait till spring to put these on so the adhesion is better. Does anyone have a heated garage I can borrow??

Re: Chrome Power Window Surrounds

Just wanted to report that it's been over a week now since applying these chrome surrounds (weather has definitely turned colder now), and they're still stuck on like cement. To me they look like parts that were installed at the assembly line.

One of mine popped up and I found it on the floor this morning it was one one the ones for the rear windows so ill get some double sides tape and cut some small strips and go from there. It's about 20 degrees in Chicago and my car is garaged.

Re: Chrome Power Window Surrounds

When I installed mine I removed the switches to make sure they made full contact.

Any double sided tape you use will be thicker than the one that came on the bezels.

The tape on the surrounds has become the shape of the the switch surround and has been pushed way up inside the surround chrome cover so I will use very thin strips inside the warm house and then reapply.

Re: Chrome Power Window Surrounds

I ordered mine on Ebay and they came today. Easy install. Our weather is fluctuating so much I installed them yesterday. Today it is much colder. I used a hairdryer just to make sure they seated properly. The ones on ebay are metal and polished chrome from China. They look good on a black interior.

The rears seemed to have a definite top & bottom, but the fronts did not. Took all of 20 minutes to install all four...I had no problem putting these on.

Tip: start adhering the surround from the bottom of the switch...working your way to the top of the switch...then press all around insuring a proper fit.

These are the metal ones from Ebay.
