Yes I contacted some of the ebay vendors and they stated the pieces where chrome stainless steel, I thought they would be chrome painted plastic.

At that price I was expecting steel not plastic.

Re: Chrome Side Molding on a 2014

Has anybody installed the OEM molding from the 2011-2013 models? I thought I saw a thread on that a while back.

Re: Chrome Side Molding on a 2014

They are hell of a lot more expensive, than the ones we are looking at.
About double the price, the one linked to is only one part of four required.
You also have to remove the existing GRAND CHEROKEE decal, as the sit in that area.
These others sit above it.

Here are some fresh pics from Colozzie today.

That actually looks pretty nice, but I would rather it be in black. I wonder if plasti dip or painting on this would be possible.

Easy to both options, you could simply do it before you attached them.

Re: Chrome Side Molding on a 2014

I put some genuine ones on my 2014, liked the ones on my 2011 and could not get used to leaving it in car parks with absolutely no protection.

Re: Chrome Side Molding on a 2014

I found an after market molding that I think is totally functional and looks pretty good. (Took a few photos) I tested it with a car and mini van and both of the doors hit the molding first. However the molding did not protect it from the rear car door. The door hit the body above the molding first. Might not protect your doors from every vehicle but it does make me rest a little easier knowing I have some protection. If anyone is interested this is the site I purchased them from. I ordered them pre-painted to match my Jeep. https://sportwing.com/HM-CHEROKEE-14...y-Side-Molding
