Chrome Side Steps Great Door Protectors!

I noticed someone in a smaller car jerk open their door right into my new 2102 GC Ltd. And guess what? The chrome sidesteps stick out enough that 90% of all car doors (and some small SUVs) are lower than the GC and will just smack into the side steps. Nice!

That is nice. Does it damage or scratch the chrome sidesteps?

No damage that I can see.

Re: Chrome Side Steps Great Door Protectors!

That's good to know. My old Holden Jackaroo (aka Isuzu Trooper) had most of its damage done in car parks by others, rather than offroad.

I'll be getting rockrails with mine so hopefully they protrude enough to do the same.

Please tell me you hit the panic button on our remote. You gotta call people out by any means necessary if they don't 'fess up for tagging your car.

Re: Chrome Side Steps Great Door Protectors!

Thanks for posting this info.

My old vehicle had side steps that provided the same protection. I wasn't sure if the ones available for the WK2 would provide the same.

Re: Chrome Side Steps Great Door Protectors!

True, but you can fix quite a few door dings for $500 .

But to enjoy the satisfaction of the self inflicted damage to the ones who deserve it! Priceless.

Problem there is most people that open their doors into other peoples vehicles usually drive old lumps and they wouldn't even notice if they dinged up the edge of their own door.
