Clear lower door protection?

The picture attached shows how my Jeep looks everyday after work. Sometimes it looks worse. My water truck drivers do a really good job of keeping the dust down on the site, but this leads to rocks and mud getting flung down the sides of my Jeep when I need to get around somewhere.

I know that mudflaps would help a lot with this, but I personally do not like how they look at all. So to hopefully prevent the side of my Jeep from getting speckled with paint chips, I am wondering if they make a clear film similar to that put on the front of vehicles or cell phones now, cut and ready to be put on the doors below the chrome strip?

Has anyone done this or have an idea of where to get it? I've done some research and haven't found much outside of the companies making it for the front. I've noticed a small piece on the lower corner of the back door as well.

Thanks for your help and input.

Re: Clear lower door protection?

I would suggest speaking with a place that installs the clear bra for the fronts. I would imagine that they can use the same film on the areas you want protected.

Re: Clear lower door protection?

Google 'clear bra' and many sources should pop up. Many have several types of film, but I have a preference for 3M just due to past experience. Often the sellers have pre-cut pieces that you can find for your vehicle. But you pay higher prices for pre-cut. Bulk film is cheaper, but you do the work cutting the shapes which can be complex for curved body areas. For lower doors I used bulk and cutting was simple since the areas have a simple one-way curve.

Here's one example site but by no means the only one. Look around.

Thanks for your help. Those are pretty pricey if you wanted to do a few parts of your car. Since I really just need some rectangles I will take your advice and buy bulk.

You can get 4" 3M film for the sills, which is what we used, e.g. from http://www.amazon.com/3M-84904-Scotc...sr=1-1-catcorr

Don't wait for a kit. The best installations of paint protection film are custom cut.

Re: Clear lower door protection?

I purchased clear plasti-dip. I'm gonna try to mask off an area the spray this stuff on. Hopefully it works.
