Re: Colors that show the least amount if swirls/holograms etc?

I liked mineral gray, and looked at one before I got my black one. Mineral gray is weird to me, in some light it looks great, but in other it's too light for me. I think I'd prefer it if it was just a little bit darker overall. I don't really care for the chrome against the mineral gray either.

Sometimes I wish I could have found an Overland in green with the interior and options I wanted, at the right price. I love the black, but the green is really, really nice looking too. I like the black with the chrome more than green with chrome though.

I agree but when shopping I found it looks really diff in diff lights. Certain times almost looks greenish which I didn't care for... I went with white because its color didn't change with diff lighting conditions.. But for the most part min grey is the nicest..

Re: Colors that show the least amount if swirls/holograms etc?

Earlier today, I returned to my stone white Overland and there was a guy admiring my WK2. He had his mineral gray Overland (still dripping from when he washed it) parked a few spots away and said he wished he had gotten stone white for his WK2. I said the mineral gray was a great color on the WK2. He agreed, but said he still would have gotten stone white if he saw it first on the WK2.

I would suggest a light silver

Light silver shows the least dirt/water spots/scratches. Darker silvers/greys look super classy but if the clear coat gets etched from environmental factors like tree sap or bird shit you'll see it while lighter colors will hide that. My last two Audis were dark grey (the called it "dolphin") which looked great but after 6 years was starting to show it's age.

Since we're going slightly off on the white paint tangent, I would have gotten white if it had been either super bright white or a nice metallic/pearl, but I thought the stone white looked a little dingy. No offense to those who dig it; I'm sure people think light silver is boring. It is, but it's super low maintenance, which I think the OP wanted to know.

I think the Brilliant Black does a great job of hiding the swirl marks. It has so much metallic that is masks imperfections better than flat black. Normally anything with a pearl coat or metallic will always look better than a standard dark color. But silver is always the best for hiding dirt, spots, and imperfections.

Yeah, I've had dark metallic cars before. Better than straight black I agree, but nowhere near the swirl hiding ability of the other colors we've discussed here.

Re: Colors that show the least amount if swirls/holograms etc?

We have two WK2's, mine is black and hers is light silver. I washed them both last weekend and both are garage kept with mine rarely leaving the garage (work from home). After a week they are both at about the same level of "dirty", but my point is she has driven the "kiddie cart" to/from work for 5 days and I literally drove mine to get coffee the other day (a 5 mile round trip).

Keeping up with a black car is easily 5X the effort, but worth every second in my humble.

Re: Colors that show the least amount if swirls/holograms etc?

My last two cars were black, and just like many of you, I know first hand how much work it takes to keep it looking clean.

I got my WK2 in Maximum Steel few weeks ago. I love black cars, but I just wanted something different. I've driven the in rain only two times, but the color hides dried up water marks much better than my previous two cars.

I'm sure it won't compare to a lighter color like Mineral Gray, but coming from a black car, Maximum Steel is much, much better for appearing clean.
